Computer

maskin

HouseModeller3D runs on Macintosh computers. It runs on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and newer. Starting with version 1.2 (July 2018), it runs only in 64 bit mode. The program works well on all computers that satisfy the requirements, but a modern, fast computer will provide the best experience.

You will find it advantageous with a big screen. A common configuration is with two screens, such as a MacBook with a large external screen.

Many users will want to print out drawings. Before buying a printer, check that it has support for Mac and a driver for your MacOs version. This is especially important with large format printers.

Minimum requirements:

  • Mac OS X version 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or newer
  • 4GB memory
  • 1GB free on disk

Integration with other programs and systems

SketchUp Eksempel

HouseModeller3D offers integration with several other programs.

HouseModeller3D can export to industry standard IFC 2x3 format. Walls, story separators, openings, the roof, and symbols are exported.

HouseModeller3D also offers DXF export of the entire model including terrain. Although this export has been customized for SketchUp®, it will also work with other programs.

The house model can be exported for SketchUp® using export either to IFC or to DXF. Import the file to SketchUp using a special SketchUp template file delivered with HouseModeller3D. There are also SketchUp scripts for automatically replacing HouseModeller3D symbols with arbitrary SketchUp components.

Plans, elevations, overviews, and sections can be written to a printer or to PDF. The program offers advanced scaling options and the ability to divide a drawing over several physical pages.

Screen windows with tables, such as wall overviews, can be copied to the clipboard as tab-separated text. This data can then be pasted into other programs, such as Microsoft Excel.

IFC files can be imported, so that you get walls, story separators, openings, and the roof. To get the best result, you should start with an import template and adjust the settings to the definitions on the IFC-file.

Simple components can be exported to IFC from Sketchup, and imported to HouseModeller 3D as a symbol.

Terrain points can be imported from tab separated text files or from an appropriate DXF-file.
